What Parkers Have Joined Your Collection Lately?

Sadly the cap is too far gone to be meaningfully restored. it has the top layer pealed off in some parts of the side. I'm just wondering how this cap was originally made as the gold filled and silver layers looks to be very thin on top of a brass like cap. with a mix of vinegar and water i managed to clear out the tarnishing on sliver that shows the damage underneath it clearly.

 

That said the pen is almost perfect. Capillary filling system is working very well and holding a fairly large amount of ink compared to my other 3 using the same system. Pen has a very smooth fine / x-fine nib.

 

Also was wondering what this color is?  I have 2 pens both sold to me as "gray" or has a slightly brownish tint on it. two are not that different in color though. by looking at http://www.richardspens.com/ref/profiles/61.htm charcole gray and gray looks to have a much lighter and darker shade compared to these two.

My second Parker VS but first set with a pencil!

There was no sac or pressure bar but I've added both and the fountain pen is working again!

No idea what size lead for the pencil..are twist pencils only 1 lead at a time??

@shalitha33 A pity that the pen is not in top condition, but still a very beautiful pen. The cap pattern reminds me of the famous Omas Arco celluloid... Congrats!

Got this parker 65 MK I today.

 

 

This pen had a broken converter which was glued together. I got this fully knowing this as the plan was to replace the connector with a modern brass replacement that takes a C/C. 

 

 

Pen came with a rather strange cap. just wondering what this cap is from and if it is actually a proper parker cap. Jewel looks more like a Conway Stewart than a parker.

 

Pen currently writes ok with no leaks on the glued up bits. I'm going to leave it alone until the glue gives up and then switch the connector to a more modern re-creation.
Cap fits in properly and looks to be secure. it just looks a bit wrong. I would be really interested to know if this is actually a parker cap, and if so from what model?
Any info is greatly appreciated.

To me, the top pen looks to be Navy Gray (like you'd find on a P45), and the bottom pen looks to be Dark Gray / Charcoal.

 

I'm sure there must be some Parker experts out there...

I bought a beautiful mustard 51 from 1945 with an ornate Sergio Kullock cap and a music nib. Not only is it beautiful, but it writes great also!

As long as it takes regular lead - and not Parker's "liquid lead" - then I would try 09 lead size. That's what has worked in my various vintage Parker and Sheaffer pencils over the years. The twist ones tended to fill from the tip, so presumably just one lead at a time.

No, that is a bit rare colour for English pens - a Newhaven factory made 51 in US (dark) burgundy colour.

A nice find with the original VP style of filler..

The correct cap for your Parker 65 should look like a Parker 61 cap with a jewel to match that on the barrel and a Parker 61 - style clip. I think what you have there is probably the cap from a Parker 17 Deluxe with Gold-Plated trim (or something very similar) that had a clip with a tapering feather design, and a jewel that matched the barrel colour. I have a Chrome-trimmed example - here is a quick snapshot.

Gorgeous pen, Carguy.  And the Music nib -- what a find.  I've purchased many of the Kullock versions.

Mitto you still find the good P51's. I have not been to a local auction in a year and a half. [ No auctions, so no Parkers to buy. ]

Found a mint aero metric Demi set with box and papers. It still has the sticker (f) on the pen.
