Hi Everyone,

I picked up one of these a while ago and I don't know enough about Conklins to correctly identify this pen and was wondering if anyone knew the model/name?

I would say, a Glider model, Chicago production 1941.

It definitely reminds me of a glider as well however this pen lacks the striped celluloid that that the model is known for.

in fact it seems like it is outside of the colors made. I wonder if its a late production pen made in the same way but with whatever materials they had left...

It looks like an early Chicago production Endura. They came in marbled wraparound celluloid like this pen has but I haven't seen one with the inkview window before. The nib looks like a Toledo so, if the barrel says Chicago, that would date it to around 1938 or early 1939. Interesting pen.

Nice crab. Where did you find it?

The crabs are Japanese. They make a cat, too, but they don’t sell them here.

Just found a Glider with very similar celluloid as this pen on page 252 of The Conklin legacy.
