I've got two user grade '42 51's and have no plans for another. One is being sent out to be re-restored today. Nice pen you have there...

That nib is really something, GClef. I don't have any exotic nibs on any of my 51s except for the OB on the Navy Gray Aero. Was that a custom grind or did you luck out?

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

My one and only is a pedestrian, late 70s, made in England, matte black 25. A tank.

I’m interested in that pen because it looks like my kind of nib....any interest in parting with it?

the Watermark is there because Photobucket wants your money to post in forums without spoiling YOUR images...

about a year or more ago they actually blacked out the photos completely, you can see them, but all other forum members cannot.

To allow others to see YOUR photos, YOU have to pay THEM...

People complained a lot, and a lot just closed their accounts and moved to other photo sharing free services...

then Photobucket thought it over and came up with the watermark idea.

I still hate it.

this is what I see on your photos

fpn_1586298703__clipboard01.jpg

a nice grey band advertising their service, spoiling your photo

how about uploading your images to FPN? it's free

I was at the BEGINNER level, with 25gb + no ads, but limited image hosting. So, I upgraded to INTERMEDIATE, that comes with 250gb + no ads and unlimited image hosting.

Does it take time for them to actually activate it or something? I cant keep posting like, like this!! Im gonna go nuts! I mean, whats the point of me being a part of a fountain pen forum, when I cant even post using my freakin fountain pen!!!!

Are you using the Upload tab at the top of the page? That gives unlimited upload capacity.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
