That doesn't exactly answer the question of an erasable FOUNTAIN pen ink, though, which was this discussion.

except that the poster is a spammer, who's placing links in every one of their posts to 'reviews' of various art markers and pens...

Reported. (again).

Ahh, that explains it!

BTW, one of the things worth mentioning in this thread is the Carter's Ink Eraser, which I think is long gone. I have a couple of them. They each have two bottles-one contains a bleaching agent and the other is supposed to "rebuild" the paper surface. Both bottles have a glass rod in the cap that is meant to be dipped down in the solution and then brushed over the text to be erased.

For the one I've used, the "rebuilding" bottle is dry. I've tried reconstituting it, but it didn't seem to want to redissolve. The eraser itself still works perfectly, though.

Hi Labrat 7228,

You're in luck, you'll need an eradicator marker, (Pelikan, Bic, Lamy and Paper Mate all make one - check Amazon to see what's currently available), but you can erase the following:

Waterman Serenity; (Parker) Quink Blue, (Washable & Permanent); Montblanc Royal Blue; Sheaffer Blue; Pelikan 4001 Royal Blue; Lamy Blue and I think Diamine Royal Blue. And I should note, the eradicator marker is brand universal; i.e., a Pelikan (Pirat) marker will also erase Montblanc Royal Blue, etc., (you don't need a MB marker to erase the MB ink).

Btw, if you noticed the trend - yes - it only works on classic royal blues; nothing else.

When I was in junior high and high school, I used an ink eradicator on Sheaffer Washable Black. That was in the mid 1960s. We all carried little bottles of eradicator. Bought them at the local drug store

I remember when erasable ball points came out and I thought that was awesome.  :). I guess we revealing our ages.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Yeah, but as I recall they didn't work very well.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
