♥ Twsbi Eco-T In Mint! ♥

Hi everyone!

Has anyone seen the news about the new model of TWSBI Eco-T in Mint slated for release next week on 16 Dec 2019?

So far, I've seen it here, here , and here.

(Edited to add: And here.)

I have about 7 TWSBI Ecos and a single TWSBI Diamond 580, but I haven't yet purchased an Eco-T. Is the performance the same as an Eco or 580? Or is it different enough to warrant getting one?

I confess, the lovely translucent mint color is making it hard to resist buying it. It looks like the palest of chrysocolla, the gem-grade variety ... which, had the pen parts been made of the actual gem material, would price this pen right out of a lot of people's budgets (but would have been hellaciously awesome!)

Anybody have an opinion about the Eco T they feel like sharing with a newbie?

The literal only difference between the Eco and Eco T is the triangular grip on the T. Every single other part of the pen is identical.

Selling a boatload of restored, fairly rare, vintage Japanese gold nib pens, click here to see (more added as I finish restoring them)

When you say it's got a triangular grip, it's like the Lamy Safari or AL-Star? That doesn't sound bad or weird at all! Thanks, Honeybadgers. ♥

It's not as defined as the Lamy's. It's a milder Triangular Grip.

It adds a little more securement to the girp if you hold the pen in a tripod position, and makes it quicker for you to position the pen in your fingers. TWSBI did a nice job with it.

Okay, I can pass on this. Not a color I like.... But thanks for posting the links.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

I like the Mint Blue color.

I usually prefer neutral colors cuz I'm "boring" like that lol.

I remember having a lime green/yellow Eco, and I loved the color, but that certainly did stand out lol.

I do like the Clear Demonstrator Eco's, but I prefer the solid color Eco's over the transparent color Eco's, and I think TWSBI did a good job with this solid color.

The Mint Blue is "refreshing".

Not quite true: the cap end and the piston knobs are also different shapes. The Eco-T cap end and piston knob are roughly triangular/3-sided, as opposed to the multi-faceted shapes on the standard Eco.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
