My Inkvent calendar arrived last Friday and I can’t wait to open it. Unfortunately, I’ll be away for part of December and need to decide whether to open the relevant parts of it before I go, all of it before I go, or leave it all until I return and start on 1 Jan.

1. Nice weather with mild temperatures today.

2. Most of the laundry go done yesterday (except for the bleach load) in spite of being out for most of the afternoon.

3. Steelers won last night in a nationally televised game.

 

Bonus Good Thing: Finally think I've decided what to use the Amazon gift card I got for my birthday on (a couple of DVDs). Now I just have to contact Amazon to figure out how to activate it.... (and because the order is over $25 I get free shipping) And because I might also still have some rewards points the order might end up being FREE.... And the best part? I can get them directly from Amazon so I don't have to deal with 3rd party sellers.... Which, I've discovered, is a cr*pshoot (I've had good experiences but also REALLY REALLY bad ones).

Oh go on, try at least one!

I’ve thought long and hard about this, and the conclusion I reached is that I need to treat November as December. Consequently, I’ll start the opening process on 1 November.

It had to be done! However, you don't know which ink is under which date/door, so there is still some sense of anticipation!

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
