Finish - Polished or Matte (Bakul)

Dear Mr Kandan

I have enjoyed some Bakul versions of your ebonite pens, but I am wondering how the bakul versions of your Acrylics might look and feel. Do you have photos? Does anyone have any experience with them. I was imagining that rather like the Premium ebonites for which you dont advise Bakul, that something of the chatoyance might be lost with a matte finish, but perhaps it would work well with the more plain solid regular colours, such as green Bakul with the bamboo pen? What would you advise?

Thanks again for your help.

Best regards

I'm going to have to skip this one... Between summer property taxes, a bicycle, mattress/bed, and bloody quarterly prescription refill I've dropped near $7000 in three months.

Dear Mr. Dupontdelamare Sir,

We strongly suggest Acrylics in Polished finish only. But if you need it in Matte finish- We will definitely do. It is individual liking and it differs from person to person

Thank you for new proposed group buy. It is always nice to see new pens and colours.

The cracked ice look very nice.

I will skip this group buy because the models offered are not my favourites due to the step down barrel to section.

I will certainly participate when models 3, 3c, 8B and 8 are on offer. The brief pause will be useful to set the funds aside...

Mr. Kandan

Can the #9 Premium Acrylic (White Cracked Ice) be eyedroppered and can the level of ink be seen without opening the pen? Also, does the cap on the Bamboo Pen thread on when posted or does it only press on?

Dale

Dear Sir,

Thanks. All pens can be used as Eyedropper. Premium Acrylic is not opaque so ink level can be seen.

Bamboo Pen Cap can be posted by Pressing. It has no threads.

But we suggest not to post the bamboo pen as it may crack the lip of the cap.

Take care

I have placed my order and look forward to receiving the pen. I would also like to add that over the last few years how dramatically the eye appeal of Range pens has improved. I thought of them previously as focused on retro but the new pens have great eye appeal!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
