The real question is: which two tone ??? ;)

This pen has to have a monotone (N-MF) nib. Two-tone would be just wrong.

Migo that's a great example. I have something similar, a KoP Pro Gear demonstrator with silver trim, and the rhodium nib is appropriate. All other things being equal I prefer the two-tone, but that doesn't mean it's the write choice everywhere.

I generally prefer the two-tone except for the rare case where the style warrants a single tone (such as the examples above.)

This creates complications for me, as sometimes I have to buy an extra Pro Gear to harvest the two tone nib for my 1911L. (Since the 1911L usually comes with a single tone nib, for some reason.)

Example: -- I bought a Turquoise Wancher 1911L and a Lavender Wancher full size Pro Gear. Together they are a beautiful pair, but the Turquoise came with a single color nib. Of course I had to replace it with a two-tone!

My previous post about the 2 tone nib was driven by my own Sailor collection: comprised of all black opaque pens.

Of course using a two-tone nib with the clear demonstrator pen would be sacrilege.

I would even go further , and say that using a yellow/gold nib with that particular pen would be heresy. :lticaptd:

My take is ; plated vs polished instead whether its two tone or mono ; plated is plated and plating do wear down over time and use especially if you use IG ink or alike. Polished nib go dull but the colour finishing is there and can always be brought back by simple buffing

@Ruaidhri This was an absolutely wonderful bit of writing, and I hope that you're able to maintain the style once all of the medications are out of your system.  Take care and recover quickly!

These comments make me sad as I sympathise with Ruaidhri, having great difficulties in being taken seriously. Or being taken at all (no off-colors jokes, please!) In spite of overwhelming odds,  Ruaidhri -now I know how to spell it- made a courageous decision and stuck to it. I was diagnosed with a similar growth in a place I will not reveal. Oh, well, if you insist it was Mount Sinai Hospital. But I firmly intend to walk in Ruaidhri's footsteps, if he will let me, on my next visit to Dublin.

Reminds me of the day my associates and I developed a cure for all mankind's ills and mistakenly wrote it down with invisible ink.

Was that the end of the Laboratory? Somehow the exactitude created a fully destructive device, as always!
