BaronWulfraed
I don't recall my 1911 Music being that finicky -- but then, it's a 15 year old model with a 14K single-slit nib. According to the database, it was last inked June 9, and cleaned July 11 Don't have a Pilot music nib -- do have a 3776 dual slit. My comment was just meant to mean that, for actual music notation, that vertical orientation is probably what one would use -- as the rotation from - to | could be done by twirling it in the fingers, rather that swinging one's arm from below the line to the right of the line (or, if keeping arm below line, twisting the wrist to control thick/thin orientation).
