Hello! New Fountain Pen Maker From Savannah, Ga

Hello from Savannah, GA. I am a pen maker and recently came over to the realm of fountain pens. After I made my first one, I was hooked and love the writing elegance and asthetic you only find with this type of pen. Another hobby of mine for a long time is bladesmithing so I will be looking into making my own hardware for kitless fountain pens in the near future. There is a lot to learn and this forum has been a great place to do research and get some very good information. I hope to make my own contributions as I continue to learn and develop my skills.

Below are my two latest pens that I would like to share briefly. The first one is black stingray skin. The second is Campo del Cielo meteorite which I made exclusively for my mother who just wanted a pen that was "very unique". She will get that one as a surprise for Christmas. If there is interest, I can post a separate topic with more details about the construction process of either of these pens. Just let me know.

Hello! Those look so cool. No doubt a thread about the process of making them would be something a lot of us would like to see. :)

Hello and welcome to FPN, from Cape Town, South Africa.

To sit at one's table on a sunny morning, with four clear hours of uninterruptible security, plenty of nice white paper, and a [fountain] pen - that is true happiness!

Hello and welcome to FPN from DownUnder, absolutely beautiful pens. Well done.

Words flowing from the soul and conveyed to paper, require the touch of a fountain pens soft carress.Distinct and individual like a lovers touch.

Very nice work. You should certainly not feel ashamed of letting us know more about your pens.

If you are to be ephemeral, leave a good scent.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
