Sailor Pens

I am a fan of Sailor and I am also into pen photography so I make this topic just to share with you my photo of Sailor pens that I have taken.

I also want to see your photos too. So let's share here all pictures of Sailor's pens.

Today, I want to start with Sailor Shikiori 名月 Meigetsu - Harvest Moon which I found very beautiful as it has a pearlescent sparkle layer in the surface. So the first time I saw this pen, I just think it has ivory white color, but when I look closely, I was surprised! The pearlescent layer upgrades the color to a shiny ivory which is quite similar to the image of moonlight.

I think Sailor does good job in making the pen matches with the image they design for this model.

Sorry the picture after uploading in the serve has been decreased the quantity so it can't show you the beauty of the pearlescent sparkle effect :wallbash:

One of the best Sailor pen that I have chance to take picture of is Tequila Sunrise. The first time I saw this pen, I didn't really like it, as I prefer some cold color like green or blue. And because the color in cap and body does not matched each other, I just felt like it is a wrong-matching-puzzle pen. But after few times taking pictures for this Tequila Sunrise, I discovered more and more beauty angles of this lovely pen, and I fall in love with it slowly slowly (just like Falling Slowly by Glen Hansard)

"Falling slowly, eyes that know me

And I can't go back"
But when I collect enough money to get it to my collection, it was sold out!!!!

Continuing with 1911 models, today I would like to move on with the Realo version of 1911.

I don't have much experience with Realo, only tested for once or twice.

The nib performance, for me, is just as wonderful as other 1911 Large nib. As I don't use Realo for long so I don't fully understand the pros and cons of the piston mechanism of Realo. For this issue, I suggest we can refer to some opinions from IndigoBOB, Honeybadgers, salmasry and other members here

There is also a topic of comparing Realo VS Cartridge/ Converter Sailor

Finally, here are some pictures I took for 1911 Realo version

Today, I would like to move on another black Sailor pen which I really love but not ready to use it as the size does not fit my hand. It is Sailor King of Pen Pro Gear.
I love the design of Sailor nibs, but 21K in 1911 L or Pro Gear Full size or 14K in 1911 S and Sapporo are just a little bit small.
I think if they just slightly bigger, they will look much much more beautiful.
And when I saw KOP nib, I think, yes! I am correct! Sailor KOP nib is just so beautiful!

Today, the pen I would like to feature is Sailor Ebonite KOP. I have not had much experience with this model yet, so let's skip the short review part and move on to the picture right away.

I love the design of Ebonite KOP Black, very simple but very elegance. Sailor also makes 2 limited edition for this model which I think they are lovely too but not so high fashion like the Black one.

Today, I would like to introduce my favorite models of Sailor: Demonstrator. They are mainly limited models which are only made in limited quantity. I fall in love at first sight with these demonstrator pens. Some friends said that they are too colorful for them, but I found they are just enough for me bounce.gif
Here are some pictures of these beautiful pens:

These photos are like advertisements. You work for a dealer?

Thank you very much. I am working as product photography of a stationery online store. It is reason why I have chance to take photo of so many beautiful pens.

Long time no post pictures of Sailor! Today I will go with red pens. Red is not always a color of my choice now but it played an important role in my childhood when I always bought red items to add some luck to my day (red is referring for luck, isn't it?). So here they are, 2 red pens from Sailor:

Hey, Kyle. That's the "sunrise orange," right? (Hawaiian Ripe.) It looks brown in a lot of other photos, but I love the way this brings out the peachy color. I am hoping to order mine tonight from Pensachi. :)

Now that's real subtle, being nominally your first post on FPN and all. :)

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
