Hi Everyone,

Well, as long as I'm on a roll here. These are some more of the Parker Jotters I love so much. Take a look and enjoy. :cloud9: :cloud9:

Just because I think these are pretty. This happens when Parker was changing the color run and you end up with different colored barrrels.

Hi Everyone,

An assorment of Princess and Debutante Jotters

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b11/fjm111/000_2076.jpg

Hi Francis.

I was wondering how I would define a Princess Jotter from a Debutante Jotter from this stunning collection?

Is there a definitive answer?

Regards

Paul.

Hi Paul,

Sorry I missed your question the 1st time around. As far as I have been able to tell the 1st debutante was the ones with the gold barrels and then later changed the name to Princess. :notworthy1: :notworthy1:

Thanks, Francis

There must be two worlds out there. I inhabit the one where I managed to get 1 tiara on ebay and I thought that was NIRVANA. There is another world out there with secret places of supply that I've never seen or heard of down here in Oz. Great photos - all I can do is ask, how do I get a ticket to this other world?? :puddle: Is it like being a member of a masonic lodge with rites and rituals? - I don't like the sight of blood.

You must surrender your firstborn to gain entry. Then gather all non-jotters in your house for the bonfire.

Nah, that wouldn't work,no problem with the firstborn, just couldn't give up my non-jotters. :yikes:

Awesome! I only wish my collection were that nice. I'd love to pick up a 1st year, demonstrator, and a Princess or Debutante. Right now I've got the following:

- Parker 21 Jotter of unknown age, black

- Older Jotter, probably 70's, white

- Jotter from the 80's, red, with advertising

- Plenty of modern plastic and stainless ones

- Jotter Jubilee SE in blue dots

- Jotter Jubilee Premier in black

Hi Paul,

Late to the party as usual, I think what is happening here is the 1st ones out of production were called the debutante in 1957 and then later changed the name to Princess in 1958. The 1st production does not have the Parker name or Parker Halo on the Barrel, but Later production has the Parker name and Halo on the barrel. The Parker halo was not added till after March 1958. The Princess with the Crown Tops all have the Halo on the Crown, so production was after 1958. Sure hope I am correct on this, but think I am on the right track. Photo's below show same Princess in two different boxes. Should have taken a photo of the Barrels to show the difference. :headsmack: :headsmack:

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
