Hello all!

I've been lurking around for quite some time and finally decided to take the plunge. I've been using fountain pens since high school (mostly disposable ones) and through university, my crown jewel is an Aurora Talentum Finesse my parents got me for my graduation but I mostly use cheaper pens like Jinhaos, Safaris and Metros (or MR's, as the go in EU), and recently I caught the ink bug! Oh my! So much to write with beyond Aurora Blue and Aurora Black! My favourite right now is Diamine Eclipse, as one might guess from the nickname. This forum has guided me down the rabbit hole like no other places on the net and now I'm happily getting past my 100th bottle in my collection. Here's to 100 more! *noises of empty wallet*

Hello all!

:W2FPN:

Hello Paisano,

Senza offesa ... Non ti sto chiamando un contadino, ... ma un compatriota. :D (Gergo Americano). ;)

I've been lurking around for quite some time and finally decided to take the plunge. I've been using fountain pens since high school (mostly disposable ones) and through university,...

I'm kind of the opposite... I just started using fountain pens in late 2015... I used ballpoints and felt tips before.

...my crown jewel is an Aurora Talentum Finesse my parents got me for my graduation...

Congratulations. That's a beautiful pen... I like the Talentum Series... and Aurora is a great brand.

...but I mostly use cheaper pens like Jinhaos, Safaris and Metros (or MR's, as the go in EU),...

Nothing wrong with that... if they get lost or stolen, you won't lose much sleep. :D

...and recently I caught the ink bug! Oh my! So much to write with beyond Aurora Blue and Aurora Black! My favourite right now is Diamine Eclipse, as one might guess from the nickname. Hhhhmmmm... ...this is bad... :crybaby: ...when you become an inkphile,... all is lost... and you might as well throw in the sponge. :D

The only advice I can give you for this malady is to find a European dealer that sells ink samples. ;)

Sii bene ... goditi la vita ... goditi la mania. :)

Hello and welcome to FPN, from Cape Town, South Africa.

To sit at one's table on a sunny morning, with four clear hours of uninterruptible security, plenty of nice white paper, and a [fountain] pen - that is true happiness!

You have successfully entered a rabbit hole, who knows what it'll yield and where it'll lead.

Enjoy the fascinating journey and feel free to ask/share... thumbup.gif
