Glad you liked the post - the only example I have is a size 0 lever filler. My favourite is the pushknob

Hello! It has been a while! I hope this email finds you and your loved ones well. Also, happy New Year!
I am happy to share with you an updated version of our old Rotkäppchen Safety Pen article. I received images of a second example recently from a generous collector, prompting me to undertake a little more research on this mysterious brand by Montblanc. Check out the link here - https://www.vintagemontblancpens.com/rotk%C3%A4ppchen-safety

If there is anything I might have missed or got wrong, please do let me know. I am no expert. I am just trying to triangulate information from as many sources as possible to paint a somewhat coherent picture about the history of these pens. So please don't hesitate to provide me with feedback.

Also, if you have any pre-1959 Montblanc pens that you would be willing to share images of, please let me know. I am happy to feature them on the website, do research on their history, etc. The site is meant to be a free of cost and continuously updated repository of knowledge about the history of MBs made pre-1959. The information is for the benefit of vintage MB enthusiasts like us, and images of rare pens are a very essential source of knowledge.

Hello,

For my next article, I will be refreshing/enhancing my old writeup about the rare M.G. 400 and 420 Glasfeder model (glass nib MB). If you have an example of these pens and are willing to share pictures please drop me a line. Thanks!

I recently acquired a pen that had eluded me for a few years - the glass nib M.G. 420. Montblanc's Glasfeder series, made circa 1936, is a modest one but quite rare to find today. So, I thought this was the perfect time to update my old article on this model. As always, I am able to share images and information about these pens thanks to very generous collectors and experts.

My next article is an in-depth study of the Montblanc “ink pencil” or stylograph or tintenschreiber. If you have examples of coloured versions of this model then please DM me if you’re willing to share pictures. Thanks!

This week I revisited our article about Montblanc's 432 and 422 stylographic pens. I have added much more history and pictures, thanks to the wonderfully generous experts and collectors in our community!

If you have examples of these pens and are willing to share pictures then I would be happy to add them to the article. The more examples we have the more we learn about these pens.

Enjoy!

Next, I will be updating our article about old MB eyedroppers. If you own an example of a Montblanc eyedropper and are willing to share pictures for the article then please drop me a line. As always, I will give you credit under the pictures (or state that the pen belongs to an anonymous collector if you prefer). Thanks!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
