Wancher Sailor Limited Edition Hammered Metal Finish

Fine & Medium only.

I had told my friend to get an EF, B or any other specialty nib, no wonder I have not heard from him.

In a way, at that price it is worth holding out for the upcoming MB Expression.

Oh well, onto the next hunt. biggrin.png

All sold out.

With only 15, I assume they sold within 1-2 hrs.

OTOH, have there been any other hammered finish pens from the big three?

Just received an email from Wancher that 30 extra pens are released for the [Japan Blue] at $490.

Better be quick.

Why always these boring BLACK grip sections? Same in the photos of the linked page.

At least, my favorite silver pen companies don't do this slip of taste.

If I wanted one but missed out on the original 15, I'd be happy.

If I had bought one of the original batch thinking there would only be 15, I wouldn't be very happy.

If the 30 sell out quickly, I wonder if they will make 100?

This is why I buy pens I LIKE and not because there are only 15.

I remember that, the GT made it look tacky. sad.png I prefer the look of the Wancher even though the other is sterling silver.

- I am sure they'd make a 100 if there was demand for the 30.

- Which was why I passed on this pen - there is just that "SOMETHING" lacking in addition to the black section.

Either they over estimated demand or people were upset that an edition of 15 miraculously morphed into an edition of 45 because the rest of them still haven't sold.

I'm glad, it was a pretty quick increase for a 'limited' edition. laugh.png We are sold out, but can we milk it a bit more...

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
