The original golden dragon clip looks better in real life.

But mine came without a clip as well (most likely sold by the original owner since it is solid gold) so I fitted a 139 replica clip on mine as well. But I kept the original nib.

Zaddick's pen looks nice and more original to the 139 because of the traditional Meisterstück nib.

@Lam1: I like the simple elegance of the new Petit Prince! Did you try the matching ink as well? Also I like to see another OM nib which you do not see that often!

Cheers

Como's Heritage 1912 was purchased in 2015...4 years ago. Everyone is getting scratches on the barrel...to me it's an obvious design flaw...yet MB is a luxury product and as such they should stand behind their products and not just call it wear and tear...especially when scratches start to develop 2 weeks after you own the product. it is an $1100 pen retail in the US which is more than their flagship pen the 149 which is $930 retail in the US. I will still buy the 1912 and use it as a "writer's pen" however it is not right that MB will not stand behind their product...and they replace parts of the 149 all day long. Not very good customer service.

....or you could just rub away the rubber residue left by the ring with your thumb. Takes all of four seconds.

I recently picked up a 344 with a 14k oblique medium nib. It's fantastic! I had no idea.

I find the Spanish & Danish coloured pens very alluring. Received this humble 44 pen yesterday.

Needs a new piston seal and the clip could be cleaned up too.

Excellent choice! I have the same one and have shared some info on it https://www.vintagemontblancpens.com/spanish-no-44

Enjoy it in good health!

I love the 75th pens :) Since I already have a Traveler with a nib I enjoy (Stubby Broad) , this one will probably be sold at some point.

An almost new MB Meister 146, 90's. F nib, monotone, 14kt. Works and writes like a charm too. Excellent pens, and the nibs are a joy to use.

Cufflinks, I've been searching for the red ones and finally found one while browsing for some inks to purchase, ended up buying these instead, Just love the tribute to Shakespear.

My first MB 149. Factory fresh. First inking goes to the new Petrol Blue. I'm going to like this a lot.

I had my "Factory Fresh" 149 in an EF that arrived 3 weeks ago that I have yet to ink...

It's a sin that I have not inked it yet...

Mighty 8th...you motivated me to ink mine...

Respectfully,

David

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
