Thank you for this group buy and your diligence!

Will you be letting members know when their pens have been shipped? Although, I realize turning so many pens plus administrative work might make that difficult.

Regards

Dupontdelamare

Sure Sir. We would be shipping the pens from 28th November. It is on schedule.

Anyone can tell me how the Bock / Jowo / Schmidt nibs compare to each other? How do we choose among this brands?

And particularly for Fine nibs? (I can say that for the same line width, I prefer the tips feeling more like stubish then round. And with good flow - I tend to write fast.)

I don't have first hand experience at this but many people say that the jowo nibs r consistently good outside the box , but after all it's ones preference. There are threads that compare the 3 German nib brands that you mention...

I consider them excellent, very good, good in the order you listed them.

Bock has some a very slight more spring to it than Jowo, but does depend from nib to nib.

I am not overly fond of fine nibs, Bock fine nibs however seem to work well for me, Jowo F are just slightly drier (but again it might be an individual nib impression I got). I have only few Schmidt nibs, but if I am not mistaken Schmidt nibs might be made by Jowo actually.

Stubbish in F nibs will be tough, most of these nibs tend to be round tip.

If you go for a Jowo nib you can then change it with one bought elsewhere (fpnibs.com sells Jowo threaded nibs reground to your liking, italic and cursive italic might be nice if you like fine and stubbish)

Is it still possible to place an order? I would like to order the Slim Bamboo in Regular/Special Ebonite in the plain Rose Red colour (no ripple). However, when I went to fill in the order form there was no option for this colour. It is shown as colour number 8 in the second image on the first page of this thread and I believe it is also the fourth pen from the left in your photo of the Bamboo model. I would be very grateful if you could let me know if this option is available.

Hello all

Form submitted

4C with silver clip, C/C, bock silver medium nib and S12. Rose Red - Black Ripple in matte finish

Here are photographs of my other Rangas. I agree with Sanseri about the matte finish softening the swirls and giving the pen a warmer touch...

Hi Mr. Kandan,

I would like to enquire first regarding a few points before making a decision.

1. How fine is the Kanwrite Fine nib? Is it as fine as the Pilot Metropolitan Fine?

2. Let's say I ordered the Kanwrite & Eyedropper unit, does it mean that the pen then won't be compatible with a Schmidt & Bock/Jowo nib unit in if I get one later?

3. Is the material P6 / P12 out of stock?

4. Does the price includes shipping to my country (SEA area)?

Appreciate the response, thanks!

Dear Sir,

Thanks.

1. How fine is the Kanwrite Fine nib? Is it as fine as the Pilot Metropolitan Fine?- It is slightly thicker than Japanese Fine

2. Let's say I ordered the Kanwrite & Eyedropper unit, does it mean that the pen then won't be compatible with a Schmidt & Bock/Jowo nib unit in if I get one later?- It will not be compatible with other nib units. It would be pure Eyedropper pen

3. Is the material P6 / P12 out of stock? Yes. Out of Stock

4. Does the price includes shipping to my country (SEA area)?- Yes

If that is the case, is it possible to order the extra fine of the Kanwrite nib?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
