Age Dating Sheaffer Pens

In the past Parker coded their pens so that you could identify the year of production. I would like to know if the same can be said for Sheaffer? I am inquiring because I would like to purchase one made in the year of my birth 1950. Any help would be appreciated.

And then look at how many names have been resurrected by one firm or another...

The Fahrneys catalog seems to be full of Kaweco and Faber-Castell appear to have returned to fountain pens.

I have a Conway-Stewart 58 bought new some time in the 90s (estimate, 1999 is about when I started using Quicken, so have dates for later items, and it was mid 80s that I started buying pens via mail).

And in September 2005 I picked up an Ancora via Levenger (boy, I miss those days... 18K gold nib on a pen that sold for $99, and the year prior a Pelikan M605 for just $150; 11 years later and an M600 cost me $476 :( )
