New on the site so hi to all. I am selling some nice new pens (eBAY) and am stuck on pricing for a MT fountain pen that is certified limited edtion and engraved on the cap 10/50. Cant find a comparable online.
Can anyone help out with this?
I invite you to have a look at the listings I put up and would appreciate feedback on my pricing. First time I am selling some of my pens for the first time.
Thanks for any guidance....

I am afraid links to your own listings on eBay or any other auction site is not allowed on FPN.

Please check the rules.

Khan thank you for clearing that up and my apologies. You can erase my post if it infringed on the rules.

Which forum in FPN is suitable to get advice on some limited items I own?

I want to sell them but .... give the pens the respect they deserve.

Sorry just realized this isn't the correct forum!

Moved to the Mabie Todd forum.

You can post pictures in the respective brand forums, or the regional forums if there is no brand forum.

In the post you can ask members if they have an idea about the item.

And we are a collective body with lots of knowledge, but we don't do valuations. To do such you need to see the item in real life, and judge the state the item is in.

I always say the value of an item is what one fool is willing to pay for it.

Best way to get an idea is search for closed sales of similar items on ebay, and watch the prices it went for.

Even so, the same item can fetch X on one day and 2X on the next. Good photography and good description will be helpful to fetch more.

I don't know who would be able to help with this pen. Fountain Pen Hospital bought the rights to the brand name and sell newly manufactured pens under the Mabie Todd name.

However, these new pens have nothing in common with traditional Mabie Todd pens. A quick look at their web site lists all their "Mabie Todd" pens as limited editions, and even new, they are about $100 - $130. Most are editions of 30 pens, up to 70 pens.

Unfortunately, it is hard to know how much demand there will be your pen.

Thank you, Greenie, for the information.  I bought one such pen from Fountain Pen Hospital, and I was curious about the history of these modern pens sold under the name Mabie Todd.  I didn't pay that much for the pen--it was on clearance.  I still like it, and I still like my vintage Mabie Todds.

Interesting news to me. Mabie Todd still doing their  authentic inks ( the same old recipe it says )  but not any more pens I believe!!!

So why it  is not known to many who love this Classic unique pen.

On the other way round ' The Onto the la rue" pen is still on production under the same roof where  they produced  the ONOTO iconic  Pen.

Is this MABIE TODD is done under the same influential  heretic  environments ? I am asking the question myself??

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
