I really like the look of the Nettuno God of the Sea. I also like my Homo Sapiens (though mine's a London Fog). And third place would be the Aurora Optima Nebulosa.

FWIW.

Aurora is the most respected and reliable maker of pens on this list IMHO

Eh, hard choice. if you like inlaid nibs, the pilot is hands-down the winner for me.

The visconti will be very durable but plan on spending $40 extra to have it tuned out of the box, they still haven't fixed the damn QC on that nib (once tuned, it's a stunning writer) but I adore mine, the vac filler is nice to use and the bronze fittings develop an awesome patina, and the material feels incredible in the hand.

Absolute no on the montegrappa. Polished grip = slippery = no.

The nettuno is gorgeous but I know nothing about it.

Aurora is always solid.

I really want to buy a pineider with that lovely quill nib but again, the polished section is an absolute, 100% instant NOPE.

Selling a boatload of restored, fairly rare, vintage Japanese gold nib pens, click here to see (more added as I finish restoring them)
