milkb0at
Who's going? Last year was my first show and I'm looking forward to going to it again this year. Assuming it's happening, of course. I'm getting a server error for the ukpenshows.co.uk website. Perhaps those in the know on here have a channel of communication which has all the details.
Aysedasi
I've never been to a pen show and I'd love to go to one, although I think I'd need to leave my credit cards at home. Are there any south of London? http://www.aysedasi.co.uk
Aysedasi
That link is dead for me too.... http://www.aysedasi.co.uk
dapprman
LWES is the furthest south that I'm aware of. Leaving credit cards behind only protects slightly as many of the smaller vendors will only take cash anyway.
Tas
Looking forward to it.It'll make a relaxing change from driving up, down and across the country looking at Universities for our two hopefuls . . .

milkb0at
Thanks. Looks like the date and place I had written down ages ago is still valid. I shall look out for London Pen Club members too.

Boz
Might pop in - is it mainly cash only?
PaulS
cash is a possible advantage over plastic - waving ten and twenty pound notes under a seller's nose might induce a price discount.
Boz
Good point!
bbs
The lovely people at The Writing Desk have produced a floor plan you can download https://www.thewritingdesk.co.uk/writing-accessories/fountain-pen-reference-books/london-writing-equipment-show-lwes-london-pen-show-table-plan.html I chose my user name years ago - I have no links to BBS pens (other than owning one!) peterg
I've never been to a pen show and I'd love to go to one, although I think I'd need to leave my credit cards at home. Are there any south of London? The next closest is Bristol in February (I think). About 1/5th the size of London.
PurplePlum
I didn’t realise the London pen show had so many stands.

northlodge
It's a few years now since i made the trip, trains being a real pain on a Sunday. However I might just make the effort this year. The last time I went I made the mistake of purchasing a rather expensive vintage pen from a stall located on the corner where the floor plan shows 24 (probably not that exact table). The lighting was not great and it was only after I was on the train home that I spotted a significant hairline. I suspect the seller was very aware of the issue and making the most of the circumstances. Taking a loupe or avoiding darker corners would be my advice to those wanting value for money. Tas
What a marvellous day, made all the nicer for meeting up and spending a fair amount of time with mikb0at who was instrumental and key in my major purchase . . . a brand new Aurora Archivi Storici 012. WOW The room was heaving and buzzing, filled with friendly enthusiasts and knowledgable vendors.I spent all my birthday money and a little more. It was SO worth it. The Aurora has already shot into my top 5 pens, easily.http://www.taskyprianou.com/fpn_london_pen_show_booty.jpegPen: Aurora Archivi Storici 012 with a STUNNING F / XF nib  - £50Journal: My first, and not last, Leuchtturm1917 - £10Ink: Sailor SouBoku from The Writing Desk, show price £19Chuffed to bits. eciton
It was a fabulous show, better than last year. I got in as an earlybird and scored some great deals, including a Visconti Van Gogh for £50. I posted a writeup here:https://ukfountainpens.com/2018/10/07/2018-london-writing-equipment-show-success/ Anthonyukfountainpens.com
