Shops To Visit In Krakow

I'm off to krakow for a week next month and wondered if anyone knew of any pen shops I should make a point of going to? (Vintage and otherwise).

Google hasn't turned up much and I don't recall seeing any shops last time I was there but I intend to visit montblanc and would like to find a faber castell shop, but ultimately I just love visiting pen shops.

Ta!

I saw a picture of that one on reddit showing all the ink bottles. I almost salivated!

Thanks!

Just quick fyi Leonard Da Vinci's painting Lady with an ermine is now in Krakow's national museum instead of Wawel castle, pity.

If you win over your own stupidity then are you winner or loser? In any case it means something good.

I saw the painting while still in Wawel Castle! One Da Vinci painting in one room, very few people allowed in at a time. Painting viewed from not more than 2 meters far. Magic!

I travel to Warsaw often for work, but never really had time to specifically look for fountainpen shops.

There was one 2 years ago in the big mall downtown near the hard rock cafè.

Quite interesting as it had different brands, Pelikan, Parker, Faber Castell and GvFC, even the chinese Duke.

I bought the new M200 Pelikan blue marble there for a price not much different from my own country, but opportunity is sometimes what triggers purchase.

Last year I went back and toured the mall but could not find it anymore! (maybe my bad memory of location, the mall is like a maze...)

I did saw it in Wawel too it really was magical, the current placement is really weak compared to that, the only upside that if you are walking from the historical centre of the city to the national museum the direct route takes you around mentioned penshop.

I'm struggling to find this shop on goolge maps - its street name takes me to a 'suburb' or borough called Debniki, is that right?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
