What Pen Is This?

Just acquired this pen yesterday. I am curious about the model. The shop owner could not tell me the name of this particular model. It looks very similar to Waterman Executive, and Gentleman but not quite. The nib seems to be a steel one.

Waterman Maestro early 1990´years made...several finishes...Regards, :thumbup:

PD: All nibs are gold plated only.

The Maestro appeared first in the later 1980s. I believe yours is termed Gold Flash which appears less common than the lacquer finishes.

I picked up one of these, black (lacquer) I assume in a resale shop two weeks ago. I paid $50,00. Was I ripped off?

Only if someone held a gun to your head and forced you to buy the pen.

If you willingly paid $X for the pen then you weren't "ripped off".

I have no idea if you overpaid.

If you collect Maestros and that was the last version/color that you needed it may have been a bargain.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
