These folded pens are designed to fit the small sample vials that are hard to get into. They hold a lot more ink than dip pens and produce much more expressive lines. They are also super easy to clean - a dip in water, a shake, a wipe and you are ready to move on to the next sample (or bottle :-)

 

These pens fit any standard straight holder and can be ordered individually or as a set of 2 nibs (in different styles).

So glad you are enjoying it Amberlea. The larger ones are a bit more fun but the advantage of these is that they are small enough to fit even the small sample vials.

Yes Amberlea - the set contains 2 pens, one of each style.

 

You can also get them individually, C1PO is the rounded one (shown at the bottom in the last picture I uploaded) and C2PO is the angular one.

Now that I think about it - that is a workable idea. A pen that can be used for controlled strokes or expressive lines by changing the angles might just be possible. Off to the drawing board.

Highly tempting! I love my folded ruling pen, and I just obtained a bunch of sample vials... I hope this'll still be available in a month or two, my finances are still smarting from my recent trip. (Which was a trip to Toronto, funny enough.)

 

One thing I've noticed about the folded ruling pen, it's very sensitive to angle. Which of course is the entire point, but -- a triangular holder works better for me than a round holder, as I can pick it up more than once without hunting for the same angle I had before.

I immediately began playing. THIS IS SO MUCH FUN.

 

I will try and do some pictures and fun stuff, but right now, I have to go back to working so that I can pay for my ink habit.

I just tried to visit your site via the link in your signature, but there seems to be a pretty important problem: it tries to connect to the website at the "torontpencompany.com" (missing the third "o" in toronto).

 

Probably just a typo, but you may want to check and fix your signature!

Sorry for the double-post, but I did go to the correct site right away and watched the video of these (and of the other folded nibs). So cool! And of course I ordered a set of the smaller folded nibs (because I can't resist!).

 

I've not used more than a few (all italic) calligraphy nibs, but I'm really excited to try these folded nibs, especially since I love broad and juicy nibs. Normally, I use a small J.Herbin glass dip pen for my ink samples, but since the line is so fine, the colors produced don't always match what my actual fountain pens lay down. So I'm thinking that using these nibs with my samples will give me a better sense of the colors I'll actually produce while being just as easy to clean as my glass dip pen.

 

And also they look super fun to play with!

So many good colors just turn "black" in fine tip pens, don't they? A folded ruling pen will definitely show color better.
