How do you get a Jowo nib to fit a CONID? I thought it only took Bock? I have a Minimalistica with a Ti nib but would like to try a stainless XXF (Waverly?) from FPNibs.

I don't use their convertors either. :)

I have their Pilot Custom 823 (vac filler - 2.5ml capacity) and Namiki Urushi #50 (Japanese Eyedropper - 4ml ink capacity).

Now you are just showing off LMAO!

I tinker...a LOT. I just try things using caution and common sense. If it is loose or you have ink flow issues there are a few things you can try. If it is too tight though, never use force. Re-evaluate the plan. The F-C (JoWo) nib I'm running now has gone thru two refills with zero issues.

What black-magic do you use to get it to (seemingly) work?

Urushi #50 is a big pen though, much bigger than Conid kingsize.

No black magic and no seemingly. I have JoWo nibs in my Conid right now as well as my 2 Karas Decographs. They write flawlessly with no starvation or fit issues. I'd post you a pic but I'm too lazy to figure out how to post pictures since the great Photobucket disaster. That and I'm just not interested in figuring it out.

I came close to ordering an 823 but simply put, the color and design really bored me. I have an Opus Demonstrator that is pretty large and I actually like, but it's a bit loo large. It is very comfortable for a while. I have to mix up my EDC pens from time to time.

A Bock feed will take a Jowo nib. I have done this without issue

Add lightness and simplicate.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
