Looking For A 149

I purchased a 149 from Fritz Schimpf in Germany. They are excellent: efficient, honest and up-front + great to talk to. An authorized dealer. They have a wide range of nib sizes in stock.

The price for pens shipped outside of Europe is lower than advertised on the website because the "value-added tax" is removed when you type in your address.

WRT your writing style, MB nibs seem to write a width wider than advertised. I'd look for a EF or F nib.

I purchased a 149 from a member ten years... great transaction and I still treasure the pen.

I have noticed that this was added to the price once I put an item in the cart. I am not sure if that would be removed once you give them a US address or would they charge you the that DTW/VAT regardless

I am assuming of course that you have  gone through this process before and probably went through that step.

 

This  was a very useful pointer, and the analysis and pricing for MB services was very useful to put things in perspective for me as well. I appreciate it.

 

 

I'd not been charged it in the past, but just to make sure I just went through and plugged in my address. It came off when I did that.

This makes it  significantly better  than the deal from   Watchwarehouse. It seems even better than the Cultpen prices for  Montblanc.

Awesome, I am learning  many new things today.

I saw the Fritz Schimpf mentioned in few posts before, but I have always assumed it is a fancy place for rich people and not for poor mortals like myself. I am glad to know they have good deals.

La Couronne Du Comte in the EU often had 20% off coupons. You can subtract VAT and then take off 20% and then multiply by the exchange rate.

 

Appelboom also had a standing 10% off coupon you could use any time. You can search for it. It was not hard to find. (I have not tried to use it recently.)

 

I also live in California and so far have not ben changed import duties from those two vendors. I have noticed the DHL and FedEx are more likely to change import duties before they deliver a package with other shipments I have had from Japan.  With a single 149 though it should be below the value threshold to trigger the fees.

Oh,   coupons  like these are what made me one of  CultPens best customers
