I do not like the new direction they have taken in terms of some of the materials. I especially do not like the shift from Ebonite to Delrin (I will never own one!). The website layout is pretty good though.

Hi oldrifleman !

Thanks for you comment on de website design, much appreciated !

As what concerns the use of Delrin instead of Ebonite, Delrin is only used on the "Minimalistica" pen range and for the kingsize "Gentlemen's" pen.

On all other black pens Ebonite is used.

Beautiful site, and gorgeous pens. If I ever settle on an ink I like well enought to dedicate a pen to I just might buy one of yours.

On all other black pens Ebonite is used, and this will not change in the future.

The website is currently showing the Regular (https://www.conidpen.com/shop/r-bcb-bb-ft/) and Slimline (https://www.conidpen.com/shop/s-bcb-bb-ft-ti/) also using Delrin. It is also not showing any Giraffe models at all. I suspect some of these are simply errors made in the website switch.

One addition I would love to the website would be to show the different ink capacities of the model. I remember that being available on the old site and I did not notice the capacities listed here.

(BTW, my Kingsize should arrive on Monday!)

It looks I was wrong, I stand corrected…. my apologies

The site is nicer now that you can see all the pens 'side-by-side'. I'm also a little envious that there are now BB nibs available in both #6 and #8. :)

I'm intrigued with the "AVDA Phi" model. I don't see pricing or the ability to order?

Hi sketchstack,

Prices for the AVDA will be added soon, sorry for the inconvenience

I understand from the site that the CAISO feature is available only on Kingsize models. Does it come automatically on all Kingsize pens, or does it have to be ordered specifically?

Your webmaster should know that the "Contact Us" query form is not functioning, at least with the Chrome browser. Haven't tried it with other browsers.

The new site looks really nice.

Hi jmccarty3,

The Caiso is effectively only available on Kingsize models.

However since Conid is in the process testing further improvements on the CAISO feed, the CAISO version is actually not available .

We expect it will become available again by Juin/ July this year.

Thanks for your input on the problem you've encountered with the "contact Us" feature, I'll surely

transfer it to the webmaster !

I’ve been saving up for a regular streamline and it seems the configuration I wanted is not purchasable on the new site. Specifically a DCB•DB•SL•FPR. Will I still be able to order this pen? Thanks.

Hi Francis,

Nice design. I was comfortable with the previous website but this one looks good too.

Also, i noticed that prices of all #8 nib have gone up. Are they filling coming with a Conid imprint?

As the new website is only a week old, there is still a lot to improve and complete.

The current absence of certain models in the webshop is due to improper or lacking photo’s.

There is no discontinuation of any model or configuration.

Ordering the FPR in the meanwhile: send an email to conidshop@conid.be for an invoice.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
