Nice! I'm getting one of those as well (and a thin bamboo and a 3C). What color did you go for?

This is not group buy offer.

Dear Mr. Kandan

Any idea of when the next Group Buy will be announced? Any teasers?

It seems difficult to hold the horses at the moment!

I'm getting color nr 14. blue pink pale yellow. I hope the pictures do it justice. It's a departure from my traditional colors, usually black or what they call blue, more like a darkish teal to my eyes. Although I did once get a red one. It's actually closer to a reddish brown/pink to me. So we shall see...

Awesome! I am getting that one as well. I found this picture from Vaibhav Mehandiratta on instagram, which sold me on this color!

Would anyone have pics of the above premium ebonite rods in bakul (matte) finish? On other threads, I mostly found pics of premium ebonite rods in smooth finish. The matte ones seemed to be mostly special / regular colors. Thanks in advance!

I'm happily getting a Ranga again for the first time in several years, enticed by the #9 Blue/Green/Orange Swirl and The new Model 8B. I got it clipless, so when it arrives I think I'll get one of those adjustable silver snake rings as a roll-stop. I was tempted to make it an eyedropper, but in the end I decided on a C/C for simplicity, and Jowo threading for all my specialty nibs.

Rangas take a long time to arrive, but it's worth it. Can't wait!

Yup, that's my plan too, although this time I'm getting a peacock ring. The ring is already here, and I may end up using it on another pen, if the ebonite itself is too colorful... I checked out Mehandiratta's picture and it's indeed gorgeous!

Looking forward to a Model 8 with the Blue-White swirl in Bakul customized to be on the shorter side. The Blue-White has this nautical thing going and I love the feel of the Bakul finish on my Model 3... Reminds me of the Macrolon in the Lamy 2000 but wood-like.

Inked: Aurora Optima EF (Pelikan Tanzanite); Franklin Christoph Pocket 20 Needlepoint (Sailor Kiwa Guro); Sheaffers PFM I Reporter/Fine (Diamine Oxblood); Franklin Christoph 02 Medium Stub (Aurora Black); Platinum Plaisir Gunmetal EF (Platinum Brown); Platinum Preppy M (Platinum Blue-Black). Leaded: Palomino Blackwing 602; Lamy Scribble 0.7 (Pentel Ain Stein 2B); Uni Kuru Toga Roulette 0.5 (Uni Kuru Toga HB); Parker 51 Plum 0.9 (Pilot Neox HB)

Ditto... I searched a lot but did not get the images for matte premium ebonite... what I realized was that premium ebonite is usually preferred with a polished finish...hence no pictures or reviews of matte versions... gave up, followed the crowd and ordered polished finish :)

Oh finally, I've been waiting for a restock on Blue/Green/Orange premium ebonite. Though really I was hoping it'd be available for PSP's Zayante model, as that one's my favorite Ranga pen design.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
