What Chinese Pens Are You Using Today? 2018 + 2019

Thanks! I looked around and mine looks very close to a Wing Sung 3008, except the cap. The piston was disassembled the same way and looks identical. It writes so well with an EF nib.

There are many ebay listings for PenBBS pens with multiple listings and among the list of options is a really cheap pen (or packet of nibs or something) that's a much lower price than all the PenBBS pens listed. It's a bit of a scammy thing to do because it makes the price shown on the search results the lowest priced item and not the higher-priced item described in the title. I've been on a one-woman campaign to report them, but I don't think ebay cares.

Just like this one: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Luxury-PENBBS-308-Acrylic-Fountain-Pen-Smooth-Fine-0-5mm-Nib-Writing-For-Him-New/352265748392?hash=item5204acbfa8:m:mG2tJVhZZTyKiyFtI932kFQ

I've got a very slow-starting Jinhao x750 with a Jowo B nib in which I'm finishing up an ink cartridge. Going to clean it out soon and try a just-received Jowo M nib with it to see if I can get better inkflow.

Delike Alpha, bought to use at work. It lives in the back pocket of my pants.

I can't justify buying a brass Kaweco Sport so...............

I moved the clip to cover that weird inscription.

Using my no-name piston filler and swapping the nib for the Lamy 1.5 stub for some Italic practice.

Today arrived an order from Aliexpress. I don't know the model of this Yiren, but it's a very good writer!

I'm writing with a Wing Sung 3001 today. And it'll be the last day I use it unless I feel like fitting a new nib on it. Came with the gold paint peeling off and micro cracks in the barrel. Not entirely unexpected or heartbreaking. But the nib skips so much, despite flushing, tuning and flooding, that it misses entire letters. Dreadful.

I had 3001. One was extremely dry, the other skipped a lot too. The nibs on mine are glued to the section so I couldn't remove them to tune them. Pity. Well, even if I had tuned them I would have needed a new converter, since they came loose all the time. Remember to check your regularly.

Swank. :)

Me, not so swank. A 991 frankenpen with a donor feed and nib from a cheap supermarket pen. Thanks to the feed differences it's my first eyedropper too.

And a Wing Sung 3001 with a bad nib, ground to something vaguely resembling a 1mm stub. Doesn't skip so much now. ;)

My current favorite Chinese pens are Wing Sung 698 and Kaco Sky II. Both are Extra Fine nibs, and are reliable writers. KACO's EF is slightly thicker compared to WS, maybe because I bought the black nib version.... These pens are making me loving Chinese pens again.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
