... How have you resolved the leaking issue?

At least one person has...unscrew the metal fitting on the nib end of the section, grease threads and screw back on.

My 308 "Amber is a Cat" is my favourite fountain pen of my entire collection. Thanks for turning me on to PenBBS Bobje!

This is a Penbbs 308 in koi with a 1.1mm italic. The ink is Blackstone red cashmere, which is smooth and lovely, and occasionally sheeny.

Thank you for the recommendation for Bobby. I got some lovely .7 stubs in a size 5. I put one in my Baoer 79 and inked it with Diamine Evergreen-the green has never looked so bright. Best of all, the stub is small enough for my 6mm guidelines.

I like it - simple 'tube' style reminiscent of Rotrings of yore. Just bought one like this and one in black (no pale blues available unfortunately, else I would have taken one of those too). Looking forward to popping in a Lamy 1.1 in one of them.

Try Googling "Let's See Action" by The Who. I think it fits.

If I remember correctly both Helen and Bobje have mentioned Moonman and other Chinese pens with italic and/ or stub nibs. My question: what are these nibs and where could I get some of my own? 😁

I have an unbranded wooden pen (not the bamboo pen) with a 1.1 stub as well as the Yiren in 1.1 and 0.7. The broader stubs have been plain crappiness, even after much tuning, so I'm still looking one or two nice ones.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
