Hmm, I seem to remember reading about nibmeisters who can work on inlaid nibs on the forums here, but I wouldn't be able to give you an actual name. I still have the gold nib, I figured I might try to get it fixed some day, I just haven't gotten around to it (it was damaged something like 20 years ago and I've only been getting back into fountain pens for around a year now).

P.S. I love how you used @ notation when writing with pen and paper to post on an electronic forum!

I bought this from a seller at The London Pen show in 2016 ( I think I paid £25 for it ). I married the pen to KWZ IG BB # 1 that very same day and the two have never been apart.

Due to the humungous cap, it isn't a note taking pen, it's much more of a "session" pen and an utter delight to use. Balance, weight and feel are all lovely.

I'm now aware the nib is not an original Taccia (silly me :() but the "Iridium point Germany" substitute the seller replaced it with is incredibly smooth and has never failed to start first time no matter how long it's sat on the destop to my left

A little like Bagpuss, it may not be your conventional pen but I love it dearly.

That's a very peculiar-looking pen Tas, great find!

Also, I heard this London Pen Show is a big deal, is it the first of its kind? If yes, congratulations!

Oh the pen is gorgeous, I've been happily scribbling with it today.

The show has been going for quite a few years. Others here are much mor qualified than I to comment. I've attended three times. I love it and it is quite large. I've only ever been to one other, in Cambridge, and that was teensy in comparison.

Why don't you pop over ? Loads do.

The US shows appear to be more of a "big deal" to me. New inks and pens seem to be revealed and released.

The grass is greener and all that, perhaps :)

What a lovely line up. Thank you. Quite a few are in my "arsenal" of pens. I adored that Sketch pen. Something about it

Handsome, consistent script and great looking ink, RoyalBlue. This is an ASA Halwa in Conway-Stewart pistachio acrylic, with a Franklin-Christoph music nib and Sailor tokiwa matsu ink.

This arrived yesterday, a sweet little Moonman Mini. With Kaweco Summer Purple. A surprisingly comfortable pen to hold and write with. I like!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
