Hahaha same here...the questioning just got more serious ones the pens started coming in the mail from all over the globe.

Thanks for the Uber late warning...

Also she is also peeved as the parcels somehow tend to arrive early on Saturday Mornings, the only time she can sleep in..

Awesome way to start the weekend.

I hear you. Sometimes she's had to go down to the post office to pick them up herself because I was at work and they didn't feel like delivering it.

Pilot VP (red with gold finishes; F point)

Cross Townsend Medalist

The Cross should be here next weekend; the VP might make it to me by January.

My fingers are always inky and I'm always looking for something new.  Interested in trading?  Contact me!

I'm waiting on (not fountain pen) Retro 51 rollerball Space Race pens. I waited too long, and had to order from a British site. I ordered the Apollo. Tonight I convinced myself to get the other two. Good thing as the Apollo has sold out at that site now.

Platinum Plaisir for the year end gift exchange with friends.

Thought it would arrive faster from Amazon JP rather than pre-ordering from local seller.

My Double Twelve haul is on its way:

Penbbs 323-81SF (new Moon River acrylic)

Penbbs 456-72SF emerald

Moonman M100 in brown

Ohto Posche pocket pen

Wing Sung 612 in mustard yellow

Pentel Philography (rollerball) in silver

And I'm totally in the dog house now. I think it was the crab pen stand that was the last straw and got me in trouble haha.

Waiting on a Waterman Expert, fine nib, from Amazon.

My injured Sailor 1911 21K is now back from the Mike Masuyama hospital. I haven't inked it up yet, because I'm trying to weed out the pens I already have inked first. Even though I'm dying to take it out and ink it up to see how it works since its repair.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
