I've caved in and ordered the Moonman M2 eyedropper. It will be my first eyedropper!

Esterbrook desk pen with red taper and an uninked #9461 Fine Manifold nib, with a #112 "8-ball" base. Purchased from MidnightPens.

Between my finger and my thumb

The squat pen rests.

I'll dig with it.

Went a little nuts today and put in for a Pelikan M805 Ocean Swirl in broad. It was only a matter of time and I feel I made a good effort resisting as long as I did 😂. This will be my first Pelikan also.

Six custom made pens from Guider Pens in India. They are being airmailed to Las Vegas for inspection first, then to their new owners.

Breathe. Take one step at a time. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're not getting older, you are only moving through time. Be calm and positive.

Today I ordered a J. Herbin Smooth Frosted Glass Dip Pen, mainly for trying out lots of inks quickly and easily. I don't see myself using it for much beyond that, but I'll see how things go.

And like WarrenB, I've also got a TiLiner coming from its Kickstarter campaign. That's a long wait though -- its estimated delivery is in August.

Not quite a fountain pen, but today I'm waiting for some refills for my Caran D'ache ballpoint, and replacement pencils for my Graf von Faber-castell Perfect Pencil. On Saturday I bought a MB Daniel Defoe FP, which will probably be delivered tomorrow, but I'm flying off to Spain for a week's holiday at 6am tomorrow, so will have to wait until I get back to enjoy it 😥

Bought another Jinhao 992 because the ones I had have been gifted to family members. And another two Jinhao 992 demo but only because one comes with a "0.7" nib (that's what it says from the picture, we'll see) and another with a 1.1 stub nib that I want to put into my Moonman eyedropper. If this stub nib proves to be a good one, I'll buy a couple more because I like practicing my Italic in different colors.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
