Use the oldest bottle of ink you have.

As usual, don't forget to share with us your choice of ink, your writing, drawing, doodling or anything with the ink in this thread. You can take a photo, make a scan, or even better, write letters and CRV reviews (what is a CRV?) and mail them to the many ink pals here. You are welcome to check back on this thread even when we've gone past this week.

Click here to read more about this community project. Links to the two previous links can be found there too.

Most of my ink is in storage, but this bottle is one of my oldest:

That looks very pretty!

Thanks. For the longest time, it was my very favorite blue, then they stopped making it (same story with Omas Vespucci Red.)

Now I don't have a "favorite" blue, but many of them.

This is a sample of an ink that I've never even heard of. It was very kindly sent to me by a FPN member. I suspect that it is no longer the colour that it was originally as it isn't blue-black. However, it's the oldest ink I currently have (I think)

One of my first 2 pens was a Montblanc, and being a good guy, I did as Montblanc said and bought one of their inks as my first ink; Midnight Blue.

I'm really on the fence about this ink; I love the blue-black it can be, but I hate how sometimes (wrong pen? Wrong paper?) it can dry really grey, like a poor sorry 1 part blue, 1 part black, 2 parts water mix. I dislike that yellowish undertone when applying it with a brush, too, btw.

It has looked grey many times on crappy office paper, but this (written 12 hrs ago, with a dipped fountain pen, on Rhodia paper) and still looks great today. By now I haven't ruled it out but I have used Diamine Midnight and Tsuki Yo more often for blue-black cravings.

@Ruaidhri This was an absolutely wonderful bit of writing, and I hope that you're able to maintain the style once all of the medications are out of your system.  Take care and recover quickly!

These comments make me sad as I sympathise with Ruaidhri, having great difficulties in being taken seriously. Or being taken at all (no off-colors jokes, please!) In spite of overwhelming odds,  Ruaidhri -now I know how to spell it- made a courageous decision and stuck to it. I was diagnosed with a similar growth in a place I will not reveal. Oh, well, if you insist it was Mount Sinai Hospital. But I firmly intend to walk in Ruaidhri's footsteps, if he will let me, on my next visit to Dublin.

Reminds me of the day my associates and I developed a cure for all mankind's ills and mistakenly wrote it down with invisible ink.

Was that the end of the Laboratory? Somehow the exactitude created a fully destructive device, as always!
