Can Anyone Tell Me What Pilot Elite Model This Is?

I really like the size of this pen, however the medium nib is a bit thick for me so I would like to get another in a finer nib size. I'm having a very hard time finding another elite model this size, whenever I search "pilot elite" in ebay all that pops up are the pocket(?) pen versions. The original listing that I bought it from just called it a "Pilot Elite 14K-585" so looking there isn't much help -_-. Any ideas would be super helpful !

Hello!

I have not found the exact model number yet. It's much less common than the short model.

In Japanese it's called "エリートロング", which means "Long Elite".

You may try to search for those terms, either in Japanese or in English, and take a look.

Thanks so much! It does seem a much rarer find, even searching japans yahoo auctions Im only getting the pocket version. I might just need to get the nib ground down. Im also noticing that a Pilot E is a similar shape to this pen, so maybe I should get one of those to compare sizing... :D

I have more than 70 different Elite pens in size, color, etc. 7 of them are the long type as "formlhaut" wrote. I also have 4 silver color, long Elite for ladies.

The one I have like yours, is mint, and the label on the other side writes 5000. I guess this is the price in Yen.

Surely they are more rare than short, but not as the 22 short elite. 22 refers to nib carats.

Still missing the "White Stripe" MYU and black brother MYU with transparent section!

(Has somebody a "Murex" with a working clock?

(Thanks to Steve I found the "Black Stripe Capless" and the "White Stripe Capless")

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
