What Can You Tell Me About These Omas Ogivas?

Are these two pens among of the many versions of the Ogiva? The only barrel imprint is these three words in a row: "Omas Extra Italy." I'm not at all well informed about Omas pens, but I was guessing the 1980's, give or take, and that these are pretty low end, as far as Omas pens go. Anyone know anything about them, like what the material is, or what they might be worth paying for nowadays to use as knock around (to and from the office) writers? Some of you are bound to know, but I'd appreciate even a somewhat informed guess.

Looks like Ogiva from the 55* series (*=5, or 6, or 7). What you have above looks like stuff from the 1990s. "Value" and "worth" depend om the buyer and how keen they are; I'd probably pay US$300-US$400 for a large one in mint condition.

Some of these pens have already been discussed/reviewed/etc. on this website, so my first suggestion to you is that you make use of the search facility.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and for your patience. My apologies about not being sure if what I had found in the searches were the same pens as these. I did try.

A few hundred pounds or so, depending on how much buyer wants it, condition and size. I would (if I wanted them, which I don't so do not try to sell them to me ) pay 200 pounds to 250.

I also agree the pens are from mid 90's.

Me too

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

Thanks for chiming in, All. So, they are a five fifty-something series from the mid-1990's. Made no doubt of "precious resin" or some such euphemism for plastic of some sort. And possibly worth a few hundred quid, or its equivalent in US or Singapore dollars. Have I got that right?

I agree with this evaluation (as the upper range).

I would bet that these are the medium size, the 556S. The full Ogiva is 14,7 cm long capped. If it is a full Ogiva (557S) it is more valuable. The catalogue page is pretty relevant and explains that the full Ogiva only went in black and burgundy. The 556Ss had more colors.

@Ruaidhri This was an absolutely wonderful bit of writing, and I hope that you're able to maintain the style once all of the medications are out of your system.  Take care and recover quickly!

These comments make me sad as I sympathise with Ruaidhri, having great difficulties in being taken seriously. Or being taken at all (no off-colors jokes, please!) In spite of overwhelming odds,  Ruaidhri -now I know how to spell it- made a courageous decision and stuck to it. I was diagnosed with a similar growth in a place I will not reveal. Oh, well, if you insist it was Mount Sinai Hospital. But I firmly intend to walk in Ruaidhri's footsteps, if he will let me, on my next visit to Dublin.

Reminds me of the day my associates and I developed a cure for all mankind's ills and mistakenly wrote it down with invisible ink.

Was that the end of the Laboratory? Somehow the exactitude created a fully destructive device, as always!
