I have so been looking forward to trying Golden Ivy. It is a stunning green, vibrant without being gaudy. It is very emerald and lustrous in appearance (very close to MB Irish Green) even away from the shimmer particles. This ink has taken my breath away with its shading and punchy red sheen, coupled with gold shimmer and it can happily challenge my beloved Emerald of Chivor! I am delighted.

This one is a maybe. I'd have to see the ink in person. But I do kinda like how it looks in your scan of the Rhodia paper (I don't have the other brands).

I'm reminded of a richer MB Irish Green with the gold and red sheening magic of Emeraud de Chivor.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
