Martele Legrand Fountain Pen

It is a good pen (a tad heavy) but makes every writing occasion a somewhat special experience. I had a chance of purchasing a barley sterling but ended up not doing so because of the diamond on the clip. In the end, I kept returning to the Martele and finally purchased it after it was just discontinued. Here's mine resting in the ultimate pen accessory--two pen trays built into the writing desk.

Does Montblanc have a record of bringing old styles (like the Martelé) back after a few years, or do you think that gone means "gone"?

Based on current patterns of their merchandising and design, I would say gone means " will not return to production." But don't be discouraged. These are regular production pens and because Montblanc's are sold at pen stores as well as boutiques, chances of you getting a pen is still quite high because Montblanc's production numbers each year are prodigious.

Just FYI on the barley silver, if the pen is new from an AD you can get a swap to a clip without a diamond for free. used pens are a different story...
