I've searched my stash for some aptly named inks :)

Wonderful! Beautifully designed. The element symbols are very creative.

So... are we going to guess what the inks are? Seems like there are more than 4 inks here!

Well you're the expert! :D

Earth, top to bottom: Lie de thé, Ina Ho, Yama Guri, Verde Muschiato, Verdigris (minerals?).

Water: Ama Iro, Kon Peki, Souten, Tsuyu Kusa.

Fire, clockwise: Poppy Red, Fuyu Gaki, Mandarin, Orange Indien.

Wind: Ajisai, Myosotis, Asa Gao.

Wow! The submissions this week are very creative - love them! I'm intimidated before I even begin and I've learned a valuable lesson: Don't peak at the submissions until my own is complete. Haha!

I chose water . . .

Ink: Cult Pens aptly named, Deep Dark Blue.

No fountain pen used though :(. Instead, a Chinese brush and an eye dropper bottle were used to squirt the ink out and then I dragged the nozzle along the paper.

It's pretty, Tas!

Thank you.

Finally catching up on the backlog. Really enjoying the inks on show and how everyone showcases them.

Love it, Tas! It could almost be an Inky for Amber...

Yeah, just photoshop some googly eyes on it! ;)

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

COOL!! I LOVE your jellyfish, and usually I stay far, far away from these stinging blobs of goo.

Look at that sheen from SHB!

:D

It's the SHEENIEST!!!

You'll probably see it again from me in the current, week 36, but I couldn't resist this shimmering, sheeny "harbour" ink for water in challenge 34.

I don't get this sheen with my bottle. My bottle feathers instead of sheens. I guess there's something wrong with it

:(

Wow, that's really unfortunate...and inconsistent!

I'll gladly send you a sample from my bottle.

Because I didn't label it on the page, FWIW, the SHB was filled in an Edison Collier with a 1.1 stub on Tomoe River.

The blue jelly seems like a creature coming from The War Of The Worlds.

With this kind of talent, it'd be amazing if Gris Nuage (or Diamine grey) were used for "shadow of wind/air turbulence".

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
