Noodler's Announced A Dc Pen Show Ink - "house Divided"

Nathan Tardif sent out a news release about his latest ink named "House Divided". The description sounds like a semi-permanent purplish ink with a blue component that washes away leaving behind a permanent red line. His announcement indicates it will be available for the DC Pen Show. I plan to attend Saturday and will be looking for a bottle.

Looks like a great ink. Once again, Nathan's spot on.

I hope Anderson's will have some later this month.

This is a have-to-have ink...hope it isn't limited to just the pen show!

I was kinda thinking the same thing. I'm hoping it's not an LE because it sounds interesting (unlike Rome Burning, which I used to refer to as "the dog and pony show ink"...). ;)

I'm hoping it's going to be a standard lineup ink -- because usually Nathan avoids the DC show like the plague. And I can't go because of the date change (Saturday I have a meeting and a choir rehearsal, and Sunday I have meetings a good chunk of the day. Blecch. And I'm really not looking forward to one of them in particular -- last year I kinda got into it with someone because I wasn't given an opportunity to speak (partly because she blathered on so long about Person X not knowing as much as she did) and I kinda thought that saying um "Person Y just had a fairly major stroke last week and might be permanently incapacitated" was kinda important information. And I'm going to have to go there Sunday morning and say "Some progress in Person Y's recuperation but not enough to be able to do the work and teach -- and if yinz all hadn't sat around before last summer with your thumbs up your asses whining about "We don't know him or his work" Person Y's stroke wouldn't even be an issue now because he'd already BE here.... And it would be sad and tragic but not a complete and utter train wreck!"

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Any new news on where to get this ink? Pen Show is a bit out of my driving range. :)

Hi,

Too true

I would rather see an ink named "House United".

We look forward to the time that Nathan conjures a Royal Blue ink where the Blue and Red dyes do not separate, give us a joyous result plus good shading.

Perhaps Prince William and Kate might be called upon to open the Washington DC Pen Show.

(Instead of the usual shears, Kate could cut the ribbon with a cavalry sabre.

All in fun, but tongue in cheek.

:)

Bye,

S1

Oh yeah, we need this.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I would like to see a sample. It sounds good. I looked to see if he added a review on You Tube, but there is nothing added yet.

Just as an FYI: there is no shortage of it that I can see at the show. I thought I'd have a hard time getting hold of it. Nope. If you are a Noodler's authorized dealer, you have lots of it. Just about everyone I came across that has an even mild interest in inks has at least one bottle. I'm not sure what the availability post show is, but is a common element here at DC

I am glad to hear it would appear to be available besides just @ the pen show. Inks that are exclusive to shows & sell out leave some people disappointed;it is always a good thing when inks are available to a wide audience.

On the other hand, LE products and "show specials" are a way of making the effort, expense and interest of going to an event like the DC show something very special. By attending and supporting all of the vendors that are there, you have the opportunity to come home with something that is unique to that event itself. One can always ask friends to purchase something for them - I did this to get a bottle of the KWZ "Chicago Blue" ink that was made for the recent Chi show. A great memento for the person who can acquire it, a tangible reminder of a fine time with pens and stuff.

Just another way to look at it.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
