Pelikan M800 Renaissance Brown Inner Cap

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I noticed recently that my M800 Renaissance Brown doesn't have an inner cap, which I suppose makes it more prone to ink drying.

All my other M800's including the Grand Place have it.

So is this normal, or is it a defect on mine?

Thanks in advance

That would be odd. Mine does have one, but it takes a really strong backlight to see it in this material.

The Renaissance Brown, like all M800s, does indeed have an inner cap. Its not easily detected but it's definitely there. You could disassemble the cap if you wanted to prove it to yourself but it's really not worth it to do so. Try a really strong back light and you will see it. Traditionally, M800s are great at resisting drying out.

I've got an M800 brown tortoise that can literally sit for months and writes when it first touches the paper. Amazing.

These comments make me sad as I sympathise with Ruaidhri, having great difficulties in being taken seriously. Or being taken at all (no off-colors jokes, please!) In spite of overwhelming odds,  Ruaidhri -now I know how to spell it- made a courageous decision and stuck to it. I was diagnosed with a similar growth in a place I will not reveal. Oh, well, if you insist it was Mount Sinai Hospital. But I firmly intend to walk in Ruaidhri's footsteps, if he will let me, on my next visit to Dublin.
