Aurora Fowa, Ipsilon ?

I have an Aurora , it looks like an Ipsilon but has a 14k nib and a sterling cap like the 88.

Cartridge / converter

The cap is marked " Aurora Fowa "

 

I can't find any reference to Aurora Fowa anywhere!

 

Any suggestions?

This is an Aurora 88 small with a sterling silver cap.

The Ipsilon cap is quite different.

Yes, sizewise it is small.

I thought the 88,s were piston fillers, do they also have a C/C version of the 88 small?

Yes, you have the cc filler version. The relationship between the two 88 is similar to the one existing between Montblanc 146 and Montblanc 144.

My daughter who is pursuing a Ph.D. in literature (finally) expressed an interest in a fountain pen.

After a little discussion about size weight and nib size, I put a little lineup together fo her to pick from.

Pelikan 400

Montblanc 144

Sailor 1911 small

sterling Parker 75 cisele

and the Aurora 88

 

After a good amount of time with the pens, she decided on the Aurora.

It's her first fountain pen and he loves how it writes and the design.

C/C is easy to manage and I think she will be happy with her choice.

 

FYI Her ink of choice..... Diamine Evergreen.
