Liz, that is awesom.

From DeAtramentis to Waterman to Iroshizuku.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

:D Thanks. It took a while to come up with an idea for this one (except the ink - I had a nice boring, "there are 12 billion of these in use at any minute so they'll never know it was mine that was used for the ransom note", Jinhao cartridge in mind from the beginning).

We will miss you, Ian.

Curses, I was so desperate for the QE pen that I never even considered forensics.

Just as well my blood is a mixture of diamine poppy red and syrah then.

Mwaaaaaahahaaaa

The threat still stands....tick, tock, tick tock.

I would never handwrite my ransom notes, but if I did, I'd use Quink or Montblanc Royal Blue. Under no circumstances would I use a Noodler's, KWZI, Robert Oster or Blackstone ink. (The batches are way too small and identifiable.)

To say nothing of the unique properties - stuff like shading and sheen.

It's why I chose Serenity Blue. It it pretty nondescript/ubiquitous and much harder to trace. Who doesn't like blue?

Now don't you worry a bit!

After worrying for a good while, I was finally fortunate to get my own bottle of BOOKWORM, from those "nice folks @ Vanness Pens," I will gladly send it to you, after you so generously offered to share one of your bottles with me! We will just throw you an "INK shower," that will "show them!"

Bye, bye Claudia. It was nice to meet you.

Farewell.

Never met the woman.

Claudia, WHO?

A good Friend of mine, loves to tell the story of a time in College when she was in an automobile accident & taken to the Hospital for treatment. She couldn't remember her Parent's insurance information & had them call her Mother, who answered the phone, late in the nite & replied, (after being asked the information,) "I don't have a Daughter." (I knew her Mother & believed the story!)

OMG, that's too funny. I only copied notes where the kidnapped was returned alive and unabused.

Pssst!

I couldn't add it to the challenge for fear of being traced back to me. Shhhh! The pen was a Faber Castelle Loom - M.

The ink, Akkerman Parkpop Purper.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
