I join Newjelan, mhguda, and LizB with Lamy Dark Lilac, the only limited edition ink I have, and that is only one cartridge that I was able to trade for. Anyone have any interest in trading more with me?

So, how precious is PPS? Well, with bottles going for upwards of $300, I reckon I have about $150 worth in my stash...

To quote Moses - "From my cold, dead hands"...

Your scan is truly awesome! FINALLY, I understand the PPS

Sooooo sad this ink was out-of-production before I knew that it needs me! :crybaby:

I was lucky enough to try some Thistle powdered ink - ambeleadavis obviously

I was also lucky enough to be sent some newly formulated Organics Blue Teal . . . very very very similar. Mmm.

For those of you who want to save a little money, Monteverde Horizon Blue is as close a match to PPS in colour and behaviour as I have yet been able to find.

Once upon a time I had a single cartridge of pps. I tried it in a 45 that had a very narrow nib. Missed out on the true goodness of it. I would like to try some someday in a wider nib. I think the nib was an ef. It wasn't great in it.

An ink you've already seen from me; however, it is without question the shoo-in for My Precioussssss submission.

FPRebel... Never having heard of Chesterfield inks I did a quick google and hit a few FPN results that suggest they are Diamine inks and that Zircon is the same ink as Diamine Aqua Blue. Being a Zircon owner (there can't be that many), does that sound about right to you? Have you got Aqua Blue?

Thank you :)

So many of our well-loved pens and a lot of our inks are passed down by friends or family or ebay. There's a lot of history rattling around in our drawers and cupboards. I like to take a moment or two sometimes and reflect on that.

Quite right. When my father died, he left me his two favorite FPs, a Sheaffer Targa 1005, and his most special pen, a Montblanc 144 Bordeaux. I have them with me, inked, always.

I'm just seeing this information! I don't have Aqua Blue, but it just made the short list of Inks to Buy. Thank you so much for the info!!!!!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
