Mini Or Vac Mini

I just got a TWSBI 580. I love everything about it except the length when posted. I do not love it unposted as its too short for me.

I'm looking at a Mini or Vac Mini to replace the 580. Which do you prefer? The Vac Mini is a bit longer posted so right now that's leading the race.

Check the posted length of both and see whichever you like best :)

If I were you I'd go for the Vac since you already have the piston's version. Just my 2 cents

would you use it for long or short writing sessions? I find the VacMini quie uncomfortable for long writing sessions since you have to turn the plunge knob to let the ink flow in the feed.

Keep this in mind as well

Not sure why opening the knob would make the pen less comfortable. Having it open on my 700r is no big deal.

If you write a lot the VacMini holds more ink then the Mini.

I just have the Mini Vac, and I do keep it unscrewed a bit to let the ink flow - that might seem odd, but it's of no consequence most of the time. I love this pen and appreciate it the longer I've owned it (about a year).

I've taken it to Europe (it did not leak on the plane), tight it before take off.

Forgot to tighten it down on a drive up to Mammoth Lakes and it did leak, so you do have to be mindful of altitude changes - but I LOVE the fantastic ink capacity, the overall balance in my hand, and it's among my favorite smooth writing pens.

Honestly, I doubt you could go wrong either way.
