Yes, they are the same price, both at the store that sells them here in the U.S. and on the BungBox website.

I don't have Sapphire, but from the reviews of Sapphire, I think it's a little darker. I looked at your review and saw that you used Omaezaki Ocean to compare to Sapphire; I do have that & if you'd like, I could do a quick comparison of it with Omotesando to give you a better idea of how it looks.

Excellent review and very nice colour. I think I get something similar (in colour, if not in behaviour) by mixing Pelikan 4001 Royal Blue and Pelikan 4001 Brillant Black in the approximate ratio 25:1.

Thanks for the review. I think I had considered trying that the last time I ordered ink but at the price of a sample it was pushing the limits of my budget (which was skirting the edge of "can I afford this" as is.

In my experience, Bungbox Sapphire has a lot of sheen which distinguish it apart from Omotesando. My Sapphire sample also looks a little darker than these pictures. Based only on online pictures I think this ink looks more similar to Omaezaki Azure Sea than Sapphire but online pictures can be off.

Looks like a darker version of Nagasawa Kobe Maya Lapis. This is a very nice color indeed. If I already didn't have First Love Sapphire, I would have seriously considered this ink.

Very nice blue ink. Thanks for an excellent review, Julia. I agree with other posters that First Love Sapphire Blue is a tad darker. I'd pick this one up but I'm getting somewhat blue heavy in my ink stash...and blue is not a color I use very often. I love your writing samples...very impressive.
