Lamy Safari Petrol - 2017 Special Edition

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

Lamy Safari Petrol is here!

Fountain pens come with black Fine or Medium nib (feel free to add any Z50/Z52 nibs of course).

They have matt finish, just like Dark Lilac pens.

There are Roller-balls and Ball-point pens too. Ink comes in T10 cartridges and T52 bottles.

Petrol colour is dark teal-green B) similar to Sailor Miruai. It shows a slight sheen on Tomoe River paper.

BTW if you wonder about shipping cost - we use Royal Mail Airmail service for orders outside UK and you can check the cost in the shopping basket before you place the order.

Enjoy!

Mishka

Cool phots (especially second one). I'm not sure about the colors but I'll try them, both ink and pen.

Thank you - credit to Faisal, he takes great photos :) I wasn't sure if this will be your colour or not :))))

Blimey, you have to move fast... I will order pen and cartridges then. Are you definitely getting more of the ink in for May? Any chance of reserving a bottle?

Thanks Mishka, it's really good that you guys communicate with your customers as you do, head and shoulders above the many faceless generic online retailers.

Mine arrived today. The color is different from most of the photos that I've seen. I bought a bottle of iroshizuku tsuki-yo to use in it. It's perfect!

The pen wrote well as soon as I inked it up. I do like it.

I have been writing with mine all week, on the crappy paper we use for documents at work it appears almost black, my rhodia shows up the greenish tint.

Its no Dark Lilac or Copper Orange but is way better than the Charged green or Neon lime disasters.

Bit of sad news...but it was expected...

First wave of production is gone! No more bottled ink till May

I have no idea whether this means my order is now unfulfilled. If I am now in some sort of queue how do I cancel the order?

Thank you! I've just ordered mine. :)

That Petrol ink color looks very interesting. Definitely will order a bottle to go with the Petrol Lamy I just received.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
