Union Fountainpen, Who Can Help With History?

Recommended Posts

Lately I received a vintage UNION 5 fountainpen. It needed some repair, but works fine again.

I have been looking here for more information about this brandname, but could not find much.

I have a feeling it has a Dutch or German origin. Made around 1950.

Nib reads:

UNION, 14K waranted, 2

Barrel: UNION 5 EF

Who can help me?

Yesterday my wife found a Union 44 in an antiques store. Well-used but fully functional. The nib is super-duper-soft so there’s a lot of spontaneous variation when writing. Very nice. The cap seems to have been broken and repaired. The filling system works as it should, so it must have had a new sac fitted at some point. Appears to be a well-made ‘50s pen. Price paid was €19.

I need to look into this brand a bit more, but am assuming this is the Dutch brand and not the American one. Really nice pen!
