Week #11 / 12 Mar: Bling-Bling Week - 2017 Weekly Ink Project

We are having a bling bling week! J. Herbin brought us a new type of ink with Rouge Hématite, but I think it's actually Gris Orage that set the trend of shimmering particles. Since then Diamine and De Atramentis have jumped on the bandwagon as well.

Actually I had this week planned with particle inks already, and mehandiratta told us it coincides with Holi Festival in India! So, ink up!

As usual, don't forget to share with us your choice of ink, your writing, drawing, doodling or anything with the ink in this thread. You can take a photo, make a scan, or even better, write letters and CRV reviews (what is a CRV?) and mail them to the many ink pals here. You are welcome to check back on this thread even when we've gone past this week.

Click here to read more about this community project. Links to the two previous links can be found there too.

Next week: We are going to celebrate the arrival of spring/autumn.

Diamine Shimmer Lilac Satin is my choice for this week's Bling-Fest. It's pretty subtle compared to some of the other Diamine sparkly ones, and a really lovely pretty lilac purple colour. Technically, it is my daughter's first ink, as she specifically requested it (she is 5 years old).

The sparkles are indeed quite subtle in this ink! Gorgeous photos!

I didn't remember it being this good. But it has been a while.

Stunning work . . . reminds me of Odilon Redon's dark and gloomy stuff.

There are no "bling-bling" inks in my drawer of shame so I'll respectfully bow out of this week's shiny shenanigans :)

I think it was the pen more than the ink causing skipping and poor flow. In a broad nib FC Ambition, it performed much better. Still spread terribly on cheaper paper.

Loving the Bling bling theme! I wrote with J. Herbin's 1670 Émeraude de Chivor all week... sorry for posting late though. Also, I know it may not be the most original choice but it's my favorite ink!!! 😊
