Precision is my nemesis - it's what I aim for, and so often miss, so it's really lovely to hear that I've managed to achieve that here :)

All of your examples are beautifully executed.

Anyone receiving a birthday card like the one you show should put it in an album and keep it. Certainly not the usual throwaway

You may have been absent but you haven't wasted your time

Beautiful writing! And that Grimnismal strophe is one of my favourites, but you may want to consider this, which interprets it that they are sent to the underworld (the realm of Hel), not 'the vast earth'. It gave me a new appreciation of its depth and beauty.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
